HISTORY OF THE COLLEGE
The founder of Sunrise Group of Schools: HIS ROYAL MAJESTY OBA SAMUEL ABIOYE, OLURONKE 2, OLOKUKU OF OKUKU LAND
It has been the concern of the Proprietor, Sunrise Nursery and Primary School, Okuku to offer a model basic education that will provide a qualitative and quantitative basic educational background for pre nursery, nursery, primary school pupils and secondary school children.
The pre-nursery, nursery has succeeded many sets of pupils that proceeded to secondary schools elsewhere and to universities with different courses of notable values and many have gotten important positions of reputable values in the society.
We moved a step forward to fulfill the long-time dream of secondary school establishment, and we thank God it has come to reality. The junior secondary section started in September 2017 and was approved on October 2019 and the first Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) was done in the school hall in the year 2020. Students sat for the exam and they all passed. At the time of this report which is 3rd July 2024, the BECE done was in four consecutive years. We thank God the students were making it.
Our intention is to run a full time college academic program. The school is at her permanent site. We have about four plots of land for the college. A two story building containing six classrooms, three laboratories and a hall which can contain about a hundred candidates for WEAC or NECO examination. There is an existing old building for which we are currently using for library, administrative offices and computer room.
Currently a two story building is under construction for modern laboratories, which are physics agricultural science, biology and chemistry laboratories. It also contains administrative offices, modern library and computer center.

We want the school to have the best performance in academics, extracurricular activities, morals and other areas of child development. Other future development including buildings shall be properly planned.
